# Introduction

Golden Finance ("Golden") is a gamified decentralized perpetual exchange that offers leveraged trading opportunities on major trading pairs, providing users with the ability to trade assets such as BTC, ETH and ZETA with up to 100x leverage.

Following [FTX’s collapse](https://app.visily.ai/projects/36ddadc1-cd30-4c84-9457-13e92079c6a8/boards/707603) and the recent surge in popularity of Bitcoin-powered DeFi, Golden Finance went live in December 2024, pioneering perpetual trading for the masses and improving capital efficiency on the Bitcoin network.

Golden Finance is a ZetaChain-native decentralized perpetual trading protocol.

Traders in traditional financial markets and centralized exchanges are at the mercy of opaque technological stacks and market makers. This results in heightened counterparty risk, increased regulatory requirements and a single point of failure.
